KP Building Products is a building materials manufacturer based out of Milton, Ontario, Canada. With over 800 employees, they are one of the biggest manufacturers of construction materials in Canada.

Paula Cowie is the Human Resources Director at KP Building Products. She oversees five plants under the Kaycan Group of companies.
Paula always had the idea of implementing a work anniversary program at KP Building Products. Having a work anniversary program would help the company live through its values of recognizing and rewarding employees for their hard work.
But finding the right provider for their Service Awards took some time and consideration.
They had some unique challenges, like a workforce distributed in different areas of Canada and needing to find a bilingual provider, as their corporate head office is located in Quebec.
"The biggest challenge was not having a centralized platform to recognize these milestones, and we also needed a platform that was fully bilingual as our corporate head office is located in Quebec."
Applauz was a solution to many of these challenges.
Applauz provided them with a centralized platform to manage their Service Awards. And since Applauz is based out of Montreal, they are bilingual as well!
Paula saw Applauz as both a short and long-term solution for their HR objectives.
The platform gives Paula tools to help with the management of Service Awards and provides other engagement tools, like Peer-to-Peer recognition and Pulse Surveys, to implement as the company continues to grow.
"I liked the fact that they offered a 4-in-1 platform. Not only allowing us to recognize years of service but offering peer-to-peer recognition, pulse surveys and goals and objectives. We wanted a platform that would allow us to add on additional features as we continue to grow and evolve."
With Applauz, Paula had her company's Service Awards program up and running in no time.
"It was very easy, the implementation team was great, everything went very smoothly."
Naturally, Paula is very busy. And she loves that Applauz helps save her time. It's user-friendly, and there is minimal program administration.
For example, features like automatic billing and notifications keep her in the loop of upcoming service awards and give her time to make changes if necessary.
"The platform is very user friendly; the one area I find most beneficial is the auto-billing function that allows us to review upcoming awards ten days before the invoice is submitted. This allows our administrators to go in and make adjustments if necessary."
What's most important is the employees' experience using the platform, receiving their awards, and shopping for their gifts. And employees at KP Building Products are delighted with Applauz! What they enjoy the most is picking their anniversary gift from the many items in the Rewards Marketplace.
